Here I will be documenting a Fallout-inspired This Is Not A Test campaign which takes place in the remnants of Sacramento  California and surrounding areas. Chapter 1 will detail a short campaign between the Hubologists and the New California Republic Rangers. The first game of the campaign is done and I will be working to get it all done and posted soon. I will try and update this first page to keep track of the campaign as it goes and I will likely put it up piece by piece so come back and check again for more later. I am going to default to uploading pictures first and adding commentary afterwards.

Chapter 1: Prologue

In 2242, the Hubologist leadership in San Francisco, the apocalyptic remnants of the Church of Scientology, leaves earth aboard the USS Quetzel with the help of a mysterious stranger. In the following years, with the launch and success of this project, the power and authority of the Hubologists grows as their membership swells.  As the high ranking Hubologists all left aboard the Quetzel, the growing cult is in disarray and is looking towards an ancient prophecy to guide them into the future.

The MV Freewinds was once a powerful naval vessel captained by the great Elron himself in the days before the deluge. Only the highest ranking members of the Cult were allowed aboard and there they lived at sea in the days before the great deluge. It has been said by Hubologist Elders that they survived the cataclysm and these enlightened masters will return when the time is ordained to lead the Hubologists to a golden age of spirititual cleansing!

Radio designations have been discovered in the ancient archives…

Elder Cavige has been chosen to broadcast and make contact…

We are, after all, the stars of this inter-galactic space opera.

As a war wages to the east, members of the Sierra Company keep the peace in the Sacramento Wasteland. These New California Republic Rangers are on a reconnaissance mission to survey and scout the area and keep watch for the enemies of the California Republic.

Chapter 1: Interstate 80

On the desolate 80, between San Francisco and Sac-town, these two warbands meet. Each waits for the other to signal aggression before the gunfight commences.

Mission: Cold Vengeance

Each warband gets 1 victory point for each Rank and File or Specialist taken out of action, 2 for each Elite, and 4 for taking the enemy warband leader out of action. The catch is that the first warband to start the aggression loses 2 victory points. At the top of turn 3, each warband leader must make a Mettle check to see if they can restrain their warband's hostilities or they *must* attempt to shoot at the opponent and therefore lose 2 victory points.

Warbands:

Hubologists (Preservers):
Elder Cavige - Lorekeeper (Motivator, Resourceful, Bold); Stealth Armor, Laser Pistol
Savant (Clever, Gunsmith); Zinger
Wreck-it-bot (Brute, Large, Ungainly); Heavy Weapon
Med-bot (Medic, Clever)
Seeker; Submachine Gun
Seeker; Submachine Gun
Seeker; Submachine Gun

Sierra Company NCR Rangers (Peacekeepers):
Road Marshal (Ranger, Marksman, Range Finder); Large Caliber Assault Rifle, Stealth Armor, Pre-Fall Ammo
Outrider (Ranger, Marksman); Assault Rifle
Outrider (Ranger, Marksman); Rifle
Quartermaster (Gunsmith, Resourceful); Assault Rifle
Officer; Shotgun

Board:

The desolate strip of highway is a lonely place. A Red Rocket gas station sits off to a side. A surplus of radioactive fuels waits as a dangerous surprise to travelers.

Deployment:

The NCR Rangers take up positions at the far end of the highway, waiting for the outriders to get into flanking positions.

The Hubologists take cover behind an abandoned house.

Two of the Cultists clutch their Submachine guns in anticipation behind the remnants of some industrial wreckage.

One outrider takes up a sniper position in a watchtower.

While the leader of Sierra Company takes an aggressive position in the center of the field.

Our first campaign game was a blast. Was really satisfying playing on a full table with painted mini's. Still a bit of work to do - I got the mini's to tabletop quality, but still have some detailing to do. I will post glamour shots of the warband eventually. Some of the terrain still needs detailing as well. I ordered a few basing kits the other day with dried grasses and such that should add some color to the board.

Also I am working on adding captions and narratives to the images. I'll get that done soon. I just wanted to get all the pictures loaded up in the meantime. I didn't expect a Hubologist victory. My warband is not tooled to win fire-fights in the same way the Rangers were.
