I'd pay for a good Barsoom game

Preaching to the choir, sir.

Although honestly, there are so many good skirmish game engines these days adapting one to Barsoom seems like it's just a matter of doing the work.

Sure.  Or Pulp Alley, or adapt one of the many Goalsystem rule sets, or...well, it's a big list.  We're in a skirmish rules Golden Age these days.  Heck, McCullough's engine could work - modifying Rangers might be easiest, although a competitive Frost/Ghost style game where both leaders are heroes competing to recover clues or innocents (replacing loot) that can point them toward whatever Love interest they're competing over could work.

I was actually working on a sword and planet ruleset a while ago

More ruins for gangs to battle over, the miniatures are from GW. Not sure the exact set, since I bought it as part of Mortal Realms.

Appears to be from the "Timeworn Ruins" set:

I'm gradually becoming a fan of plastic terrain kits simply on the basis of it being easier to lug around than resin.  Never really game at home so transport's always on my mind.  GW's prices aren't even all that unreasonable on the stuff when compared to similar-size resins, at least not if you shop around for a discount.

A few more rats, this time from Northstar (not the actual Frostgrave ones though).

Quick and easy.

I've just painted these as well. Great little set.

Getting closer to finishing the first books bestiary.

Considering how obvious it is, its taken me a long time to get to Wolves. These are Northstar sculpts iirc. I'm not too pleased with them tbh, the sculpts dont look very...wolfy and my paintjob hasn't helped.

One that I was very apprehensive about was the Snow Leopard, that many spots is a daunting prospect even for the best painters. When it comes to my ham fisted scrawlings though I actually managed to create a serviceable Leopard paintjob, one that I was happy with!

Finally, I added another ghoul to the pile

A new member of a seperate (currently unrecorded) Warband. Formerly a Mage Knight mini  he'll probably be subbing in for a Barbarian. Get some of that "Conan strangling his slavemaster with their own chains" action.

You really have me rethinking my opinion of the usability of GW AoS stuff. I have no interest in AoS per de but I can see repurposing a bunch of it for Frostgrave now (yes, I am late to the Frostgrave party).

Yeah, the less OTT stuff is pretty good for it. Unlike Stargrave sadly where the 40k aesthetic is pretty singular and distinct.
