We've played a lot of Lion Rampant at our club, so Dragon Rampant gave us an excuse to dust off some fantasy miniatures.
The game was the basic Bloodbath scenario pitching a Necromancer and his minions against a Dwarf warband.
Necromancer:
Necromancer (Heavy Missiles, Leader, Summoner, Single Model Unit) 7pts
Zombies (Ravenous Foot, Undead) 1pt
Zombies (Ravenous Foot, Undead) 1pt
Savages (Bellicose Foot) 4pts
Warriors (Light Foot, Offensive) 4pts
Archers (Light Missiles, Sharpshooters) 6pts
Dwarves:
Lord (Elite Foot, Leader, Single Model Unit) 6pts
Housecarls (Elite Foot) 6pts
Spear Thanes (Heavy Foot) 4pts
Crossbowmen (Heavy Missiles) 4pts
Troll Slayers (Bellicose Foot) 4pts
Not many pictures, but I did find it was useful to create 'speed bumps by summoning Zombies in the path of enemy units.
Bellicose Foot advancing against missiles really does not work, same as Fierce Foot in LR. Unfortunately my archers took three casualties from the crossbowmen and ran away early on, so I was without long range support...
The highlight of the game though was the Necromancer himself zapping the Troll Slayers with his lightning, killing five of them, and then they ran away! If I'd have realised just how effective he was at range I would have had him closer to the action sooner. It was only the lack of troops in front of him that cleared the way! I had far to many Armour 2 units in my army, so I couldn't withstand the punch of the Axes and Crossbows...
