Cheap horses.
« on: January 07, 2016, 11:28:07 AM »
Up in Canada here, the "Toobs" at Micheals were on for 60% off.

Did some clix figure comparisons.
Here they are with some LotR figures.

Overall, they were $4 and you get 8 horses at a decent scale.

Also picked up a Caveman tube for the sabretooth tiger.
Cavemen were a little large, but they could be used as Giants or such if needed.
Looking for a set of rules that adaptable for different genres.

Thanks for the info.

Are there any good sources for 'cheap' Horses and Longhorn Cattle in Europe? I'm still looking for those ERTL Longhorns but its very hard to find a Set of them here. And shippment from ebay.us is way too expensive.

Greetings

Ahhh... I did not buy much of that so I never saw them. Once hero clixs added the cards and the pie shaped opening I lost interest. I am an old school clixs fan however. :-* :-* Thanks for the answer.

I also found a Pony Tube. Not sure if I'm a fan yet. They seem a little large.

Found this for UK European market on ebay but looks slightly different and size might be an issue also seems to include a dog? I would not describe it as cheap...

I am desperately looking for horses especially ones suitable for hard work pulling carriages and the like. Would ideally like draft horses.

This one seems to have 48 pieces for £33.66 & FREE Delivery in the UK
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Toob-Bulk-Bag-Horses-Miniatures/dp/B000VJVFWC
That's like £.71 per horse. Take what you want and resell/trade or use the rest.

Same one is $35.99 + $7.49 ($43.50) shipping in the US.
http://www.amazon.com/Safari-Ltd-Horses-Bulk-Bag/dp/B000VJVFWC
About $.91 per horse.

Also found them here.
http://www.justforponies.com/safarihorsesbulkbag.aspx
24.99 + 8.44 US ($33.39) = $.70 per horse.

It does seem to mix the ponies in there too.

Finally got a comparison pic of the horses vs ponys.
Here they are with a WotC D&D fig.
Horse on the left, Pony on the right.

Those are some ugly horses!  I would suggest the Breyer "mini horse packs".  Good bargain and much more anatomically correct than those shown here.

Cheap?!  By what standard?  That plastic bag in the photo you seem to list for about $42 with shipping - I wouldn't pay, nor expect to see on offer around here, for much more than $10 or $12 bucks and more likely less.  Not suggesting you are selling it, by the way.

There are some truly cheap horses for those of us in 15 mm I've acquired from spin racks at a local hobby shop - some are unharnessed draft horses and some are more along the lines of mustangs (wild horses).  And they are about ten to thirty cents a piece.  No pictures, though.  Could post some to my blog easy enough when time permits if someone needs to see them.  Just let me know.
