A couple of years ago now I painted 30 Perrys 42nd Black Watch Highlanders and after I finished them I thought never again.
However the smooth talking Mr Malamute asked me to paint these for him and who was I to refuse.
There's 30 in all, 5 packs of six figures and Nick is going to do the basing ( perhaps he will put a photo up once that's done).
Anyway after dicing on the socks, tartan and white lace as well as the normal three colour approach, I think I'll take another couple of years before I do anymore of our Scottish brethren.
Redoubt figures are nice large sculpts, and I hope you think I've done them justice. Please ignore the flags they are just something I have hanging around the painting table that I used so the ensigns didn't look like they were doing a highland fling

and they will be replaced by some lovely new ones.

It's straight out of "Painting Wargaming Figures" by Javier Gomez, Ray.
For the rank and file.
Base coat is Vallejo Cavalry brown 982.
1st highlight is 50% cavalry brown and 50% red 947.
2nd highlight is 5% cavalry brown, 85% red and 10% scarlet 817
For the Officer and Ensigns.
Base coat 80% cavalry brown and 20% hull red 985
1st highlight 25% cavalry brown, 25% hull red, 50% red 947.
2nd highlight just 50% the 1st highlight colour and 50% sunset red 802

All Vallejo paints, it gives a nice warm red colour.

Love the figures, excellent painting.
I find that Redoubt figures are sometimes hit or miss.
These are a hit, big time.
