(COMMERCIAL) Knights of Dice Tabula Rasa range
« on: January 19, 2016, 10:59:10 PM »
We're launching a brand new range intended to bea  low cost, basic range for scratch builders, folks that like to mod things or simply just don't wanna spend hours cutting up foamcore. The first offering are some Desert buildings, great for moderns, sci-fi or, well, lots of time periods really! These buildings are intended as a starting point, which can be textured or rendered to produce a finished result. More stuff in the pipe includes door and window frames and other details that are tedious to produce by hand.

Here is the official spiel from FB:

"Well ... what is Tabula Rasa? Nothing fancy, by intention.

The range is primarily targeted towards scratch builders and terrain enthusiasts. It will consist of various buildings, structures and components that either form a very basic building which needs detailing, as well as the parts which are tiresome and tedious to cut out by hand such as intricate windows, arches, door frames etc. As well as cool little accessories for jazzing up buildings such as vents, hatches, ladders etc.

The first products launching in the range will be some simple 'Desert' style buildings that are fairly typically seen amongst wargaming terrain. These will be available at Cancon this weekend and then made available next week on the webstore.

If you've got suggestions for simple shells, structures or buildings we'd certainly love to hear your feedback!"

They look good but are they 15mm, 20mm, 28mm?  I'm probably being dim and missing the obvious reference somewhere on your site, sorry

In terms of 'wants' (28mm!):

  • modern sub-saharan Africa.  low rise shops, office blocks, simple form houses (not shanties) - eg pics below
  • third world airport terminal, eg Entebbe or Kismayo
  • UK victorian terrace houses

Still gotta crunch the numbers but these will be considerably cheaper than our usual premium stuff

Wants?

Simple office structures and houses as per Mike Bravo's post.

Simple older style Mediterranean/ Latin American structures with simple mono-pitched roofs.

Vauban type fort components. Nobody does this in laser cut MDF (possibly for a good reason) but I suspect if anyone has the technical expertise to pull it off then it's you guys. I'd be quite happy with plain forms that I could decorate myself.

Will the new stuff be available retail wise anywhere in Melbourne?

This is a bit spooky as I had just made a post in another unrelated area of the forum "Hmmm, surprised no one makes simple MDF armatures to allow kit-bashing and scratch-builders with a simple framework..."

Might have to look into this for sure when I start my next project.

Yes, this!

Plus 28mm stuff as per Mike Bravo's images would also be great.

I think some urban middle eastern buildings (Syria, Iraq, Etc.) and some modern western style buildings (houses, gas stations, etc.) would be pretty awesome.

Shiny Games in Nottingham are soon stocking our products. They are running pre-orders right now for our whole range! This is a great option for UK/EU customers until we have wider distribution worked out Smiley
