Most people when they drybrush, drybrush up! What I mean by that is they normally do it with lighter colours than the base colour. Have you ever tried drybrushing down? Drybrush darker colours not the recesses? I tend to use a leathery brown colour or a dark brown maybe going on black. For dusty environments, use a sandy colour. You can also drybrush stains down from certain points.

Cheers Andy. I've been trying to figure out exactly how an asteroid base sitting within a shielded environment would weather? I can see the landing areas getting damaged and stained but what about the main buildings which would have a shield to prevent damage from debris?

 lol

I started to go down that route but stopped myself! So how does dust accrue when there is zero gravity? How do Starfighters leak oil? That's why I said about the movies earlier: they weather sci-fi stuff presumably because it fits with what we're used to seeing on planet earth. I'm sticking with movies for the style cue.

Also a big fan of the dry brushing with darker colours that Andy mentions: I tend to do it to rocks.

A busy outpost on the edge of Imperial controlled space.

Apologies for the terrible phone app cloning of the mat, but it's too small for the 3'x3' mat!

Superb, the weathering has finished it off perfectly.

Cheers guys. The painting looks a little rough in the photo. I think I'd need at least a 4'x4' mat to use it. It hasn't cost me anything really though, just stuff I already had.

Cheers!

I got it at a very good price indeed, over 30% off (yup, still trying to justify it!). I'd still like a shuttle too.
