Indian Mutiny siege 1857 28mm PT 2

British move forward and decide the bridge is the best solution to get the engineers to the wall.

Bullets rained down on the ranks as they crossed the bridge, and the rolling of the dice was good for once for the sepoys

On the British left they sent in more engineers to cross the dry river
bed, this was a tough task

Engineers push forward, thing was they made it to the wall but the fuse never lit, which gave the sepoys another round of fire killing them outright. Was very funny to see the face of the British player as they made it to the wall only to roll a poor result, great cheers from above on the walls.

screengrab

Artillery support gave the support asbest as they could but those walls just gave plenty of cover

British mortar team gave support also but was completely terrible in its job, but looked good on the table.

Mutineers held out and won the day and the British were sent packing, great laugh as always and different to game, more photos on the website at http://www.victorian-steel.com/

The Victorian Outpost

Its a new gaming place in Grimsby with new terrain and new scenery, lots of respect for all wargamers and is the best place to game in town.

Anybody who wishes to visit the venue to arrange a game then  just pm me and lets roll those dice.

Reminiscent of five minutes with E.D.N.A. from an old Wargames Illustrated article.  (Ever Diminishing Numerical Allocation).  Perchance any inspiration here from that source?

Nice figures.

Nice AAR! Bad luck getting all that way only to fail at the last. Oh well, better luck next time.

Nice work!

That Warhammer castle is very versatile!

Yes I remember that article and seeing it at a C O W at Knutsford
I think! If I did base the scenario on it ,it was subliminal ! ;)

The figures and terrain look fantastic  :-*
But what really spoils the whole effect are the well sucked Polo's draped over some of the figures.
Surely someone with your prolific talent could come up with a better solution to mark the effects that the Polo's are meant to represent.

They are cheap, they don't damage the figures, cannot be left behind when the units move, can be seen by someone with my vision problems and given that we have around 1000 plus figures in many units saves us hours making casualty markers !

We usually remove them for staged photos but this was a real game played out in a couple of hours.

Cracking stuff sir!

I'm sure the Queens boys will gather themselves up and come back again.

When is the next game?
