Where are those big statues from?

Harry Potter chess set from like 2002. Primed grey and will dry brush to add to them.  Stolen idea from someone else.  Pretty easy to find on Ebay in singles or I managed to get the whole set for $15.  Still need to add a base for height.

Looks like your off to a good start.

As for the foam core. I peel off the "paper" or whatever it is. One or both sides, depending on how I'm gonna use it. It does give the foam some strength. Once you peel off the paper you can use a pen to carve it. It's very easy to work with. I get the really cheap stuff from the dollar store. Very easy to peel off the paper.
You can also use warm water to soften the glue on the paper.

Here's a design and stonework carved into a floor of a piece I made.

Your foamcore floor looks great -

Harry Potter Chess Pieces and Lotr Chess Pieces make great statues - prime black and then dry brush greys

Did you fill in the belly of the horse on your piece from Harry Potter? I was thinking of trying to cover it to make it look better.

I just picked up the rules (pending delivery).

@Eric The Shed - for the win!! Fantastic idea!
Yearly painting challenges only show me how useless I am at painting...

I've only played once but thinking back I'm starting to wonder if I need more height on the table. I had a couple of second story spots but that is all. Do you all find height to be important in your games?

Played my second game of Frostgrave yesterday.  Figured you only live once so I used Teleportation to get to other side of board to steal treasure. Forgot that I can use health to make up the numbers to cast a spell so failed teleportation 2 times and died to his apprentices bone dart. Figuring it wasn't that big of a deal I then roll a 1 to see what terrible fate befell my wizard. He's dead. Well Fitzgerald had a good run.

Bards shall sing songs of Fitzgerald's glory (at a -1 to Will)!

Ouch! Sorry to hear about the late Fitzgerald... in my case is the Captain that keeps bleeding me of gold with his random injuries, hurt on the last two scenarios and now I need to pay 100 GC to get him in the next mission...

I had just finished painting him the night before!  He taught me a lot about being aware of the rules  ;)  I did just receive a hot wire cutter and a 1/2 x 4x8 sheet of polystyrene so I'm going to attempt to learn how to make walls.  Game is a lot of fun and I ordered up some new miniatures today. My new witch shall seek revenge~!

Managed another game this weekend and I got my revenge!  Started an Elementalist and managed to kill a few of my opponents war band and also make off with an extra treasure.  Elementalist definitely had better rolls than poor Fitzgerald. Managed to get 3 levels so I'm only 3 back now of my friend.

Been trying to build some terrain and I'm just awful at it.  Attempted a mausoleum out of foam core and basically built an non square box.  Watched lots of Mel's terrain tutor videos but I'm starting to think crafting might not be my forte.

Top Tip : Start small

Begin with something you can probably make and finish within an hour or two, like a low wall. Try that first. You will get better soon enough. Just don't try big buildings right off the bat.
