Aahh yes, Absinthe - "Absinthe makes the heart grow fonder..." Sorry couldn't resist that one.

Lethal stuff, I heartily agree all VSF games should have one, but I venture to suggest all VSF gamers should indulge in consumption of said Absinthe prior to commencing a game. I know it would improve my leadership/command skills...

we are lucky enough since they changed the recipe of the absinth nowdays.
at these old days -late nineteenth century, it was made using methanol, which is really lethal

Thanks for the link - I had always intended painting one of my French Aeronefs Green and calling it the Green Fairy or La Fee Verte.

Absinthe is a great cocktail ingredient though. One of my favourite classic semi-obscure cocktails, the 75 Cocktail (not to be confused with the more popular French 75 - the two seem to have been the same in some shadowy past but they're completely different now) uses it. You just have to respect the fact that absinthe has a REALLY assertive flavour so half a teaspoon will do unless you want your cocktail tasting entirely of absinthe and nothing else
