Thanks fellas. All your comments are very much appreciated

That really looks awesome. I've been slowly collecting bits of styrofoam, though originally for making buildings with. I'm now seriously considering doing something different with them... thanks for the inspiration!
You are most welcome.

...at just over £4 a sheet to have a bunch of stuff of consistent thickness and quality the two sheets I bought were a great investment.

Funny that as i look at alll the amazing castles I have seen done with this material i am now seriously considering doing something different too when i am done with this project.

I had no idea how easy this stuff was to work with and get great results.

Next up .....

I had another Scotia Grendel bit that looked like this:

I thought it might be cool to head down into the sewers for a for a bit .... sort of "corridor" you might find behind aa secret door? Or forced into the sewer as an escape route???

So I made these bits:

So I could build this:

Then I remembered this and thought that this would be a great place to 're-surface' again:

So I built this:

and ended up with this:

Here it is with a top on:

No ... it is a rat. There was one illustrated on the Heroquest tile.

Next up ....

So, a guy put this coin in my hand at the last 'Oldhammer games day' ... I can't remember who it was ... so if it was you ... and you are reading this post ... do let me know so I can 'big you up' and point folks in your direction for coin related goodness.

Anyway ... I only have this one coin .... (as I can't remember where it came from to get some more. :D) but I had this idea of how I could use it in a dungeon tile ... largely inspired by indiana Jones in the last crusade .... "Elsa don't cross the seal. The knight warned us not to take the grail from here!"
As it happens I have a table full of Grail cups coming with my twisty catacombs Kickstarter. :D

However, I made my coin rather ill fitting in the floor, by design, so that it could be .... something else too ...  a disc that flips and drops someone standing on it into a pit ... or it could be a secret door that when you stand on it lowers you into the treasure room below ... could just be the throne room of the emperor, etc, etc.

Anyway ....

Honest ... it really is ... If I can do this  ... you just need to be able to hold a pencil and use a ruler. :D

So I have been getting some paint some of this stuff.
Couldn't resist getting some of it on the table to see how it was shaping up.

Heres some close ups of some of the bits ... Only just the base colours on this but you can see where I am going.

Hopefully squeeze in a bit of paintiing this weekend and show you some finished pieces next week.

Looking great. I do like how you have reproduced the lighting effects from the card tiles.

Here is the first of the Quest rooms ... coming on nicely ... needs some scattered rocks, and bones and the dungeon dressing of a cauldron and a statue  ... and the jobs a good 'un.
