Ok so having finished my first army for the rebels it's time to start on my first regiment of imperial guard for the imperial crusade army. I 've started with a light infantry regiment the Redroran Rangers. If your interested in the background or the army list there's some stuff on my Blog here

Mean while my first unit for the army is a Skunk-Bear armoured car converted from a £5.00 1/43 diecast I picked up at The Works shop here in the UK

and turned in to this

A couple more pictures and some background and stats for the Skunk-Bear armoured car can be found on my blog here for those interested

Cheers Jon

I liking the look you're achieving with this project. The repurposing of larger scale models is taking me back twenty years.

Cheers.

I wouldn't dream of using 1/43rd with 28mm WW2 historical stuff because it would look oversized but in the dark future apparently everything is a bit oversized so it seems to work quite well. :D

It's also easier to pop out the cupola with your chainsword so you can wave it around.

Awesome stuff.  Oddly, when I read the update I thought to myself "wouldn't it be cool to do a South African themed Imperial Guard force?".  I was surprised to the see the French armored car.

The I do remember the Italian army has a heavy armored car with what I believe is 105 or 120 cannon on it. The name escapes at the moment buy it looked pretty cool.

The B1 Centauro

Big armoured cars/wheeled tanks do look cool.
