I love the Governor and his retinue! His face is really nicely done :) The ceremonial guards are a nice pair of conversions. Do you have more of the household planned?

Thanks axiom. I've been thinking about a few more courtesans and have been looking for miniatures a few I've found I think might fit with the theme

from Reaper

and from Blackhat's Colbalt range

Might not happen anytime soon though as I'm now knee deep in sisters of battle for my latest army.

Excellent figures. I really like that Reaper hooded mystic type.

A word of warning, the Black Hat human trader is massive!! I have him and he towers over most figures!

ohh thanks for the heads up. I figured as they were an old range they'd be on the smallish side...

Happy new year guys.

I've decided to start a new gaming board for this project in 2017 a nice ruined city to scrap over.

The long and short of it is, after much consideration, I've decided to go with (mostly) laser cut MDF for this project. I've never used any MDF scenery before so its a bit of a learning curve but here is my first effort in the form of some shipping containers.

this is going to be quite the involved project so I'll use this thread to try and keep me going by posting updates when I hit the proverbial wall. :)

Cheers one thing about the MDF is its pretty flat and smooth with no real surface texture other than a few laser cut lines so I think you need to try imply texture with the paint effects you use. I'm not sure if I'll get it right but it makes for an interesting challenge. :D

I really like the creativity you display in this thread. That is inspiring and the results are great!

What sort of games do you play? Bog standard 30k or something else?

I'm stuck in a time warp still playing 4th edition 40K with a mix of 3rd, 4th and 5th edition codex. I dropped out of 40K for a while and when I got back into it I just didn't see the point in buying a new edition and a load of codex books. Also if I'm honest I'm not overly into all the flyers and super heavy vehicles that seem to be in vogue with todays 40K. Mostly I play solo games when I play (occasionally roping in my son) but If I'm honest I spend much more time painting and modelling than I ever play these days.

Small update I ordered some more MDF bits including a 4x4 gaming board from TT combat. I'm really impressed with this product for the price. More on my Blog here

I now have 16 1x1foot gaming tiles, a load of bare MDF scenery and a bucket of model rubble to start creating my city fight board
