Napoleon in Egypt - with Dominique-Vivant Denon
« on: February 08, 2016, 12:48:35 PM »
For our presentation game "EGYPT 1801" on TACTICA in Hamburg I build this scene "loosely inspired" by this picture from an Osprey book.
It shows the painter Dominique-Vivant Denon. At Napoleons invitation he joined the expedition to Egypt as part of the arts and literature section of the Institut d'Égypte, and thus found the opportunity of gathering the materials for his most important literary and artistic work. For more information ... the www ...  ;)

See you at TACTICA 2016 ...  :D

That's a lovely vignette (though the long-tailed coats and most of the bicornes had been dropped and replaced by the 'Kléber' uniform by 1801).

Looking forward to seeing pics of the Tactica game as the Egyptian campaign is a pet period of mine.
