25mm Round Non-Slotta Bases?
« on: February 10, 2016, 06:19:45 AM »
I'm tearing my hair out looking for these. I got one with a Ral Partha miniature and being able to dump the miniature on top and green stuff in a penny (for weighting and magnetisation) is great.

I can't find them for love nor money, though.

Anyone got any ideas where I can find some?

EDIT: Oh, also, I'm in the UK.

You mean Renedra 25mm?  Or do you mean raises like the 40K bases sans the slot?

http://www.renedra.co.uk/product.php?product=226

EDIT: Sounds like you're looking for the raised ones...that's tough since even the non-slotta....slotta bases have ridges on the bottom.  A lot of the plastic GW miniatures come with them.

There are a great many sellers of these!

Check out these Chinese Ebay sellers for instance: Click and Another click

Then there's Renedra, who have 25mm flat bases. For most of my minis, I changed to these a couple of years ago.

Then there are the Infinity bases, which would also be exactly what you're after.

And obviously, Games Workshop has them as well, but at rather inflated prices... ::)

These are just a couple of them; there must literally be hundreds of sources for 25mm bases...

+++EDIT+++ Elbows beat me to the Renedra ones there... :D

I agree there are plenty around commercially, but I got most of mine as surplus from bring and buy figures, mostly GW ones. I find the bars underneath make convenient compartments in which to spread filler. I then briefly sand them smooth and glue magnetic sheet to them to give weight and stability to plastic figures. I've had some issues with the thinner non-slotta ones warping when sticking figures on with some adhesives. Depends on the look. I find as I grow older (and clumsier) the chunky bases are easier to grab...

Thanks, guys. I did want the ones with no slot in since they're so damn good for just being able to be quickly weighted without messing around with shot.

I'll harass Ral Partha and see if they sell them separately.

Here you go.

One inch, plastic, hollow inside with no slot.
The only way they differ from GW is that the sides are strait rather than angled.
They are based in the USA, but the cost is so darn low that even with shipping they're probably worth it.

In fact, it almost looks like they've mis-listed the quantity by one decimal place. I may grab some for myself. before Reaper realizes it.
