Here's the 'How To' guide from the Scrappers rulebook on how to build your Scrapper Crew.

What's the game rationale behind the survival of the sort of highly advanced technology that can build AI autonomous robots?

The rationale is that its a fall from future tech. The Apocalypse happens 200 years from now as Mankind is preparing to colonize other worlds. The game takes place 150 years after that. That's a thumbnail sketch, but its why there are dilapidated robots running around on the hunt for scraps of Ancient tech just like their True Human and Mutant counterparts.

Somehow I missed that this was coming along so soon and that it was based on BoB.

Really good to hear. The club gave BoB for fantasy a read-through a while back.  The core of the rules seemed good, but we were a bit overwhelmed with all the extras. If this is a streamlined version, it might make it to our table.

It hits the market next Tuesday! And you'll really enjoy the streamlining we've done. Our discussions and feedback with you guys from a couple of years ago were not forgotten! :)

Got my copy last week and started reading it. It is really better than expected. Tried BoB, but this was not our cup of tea. But Scrappers is very nice. A very good background, open to a lot of miniatures. The engine is complex, not so easy like all these "songs of"-games. The games tend more to easy RPG with Miniatures, true skirmish game. The Background is very good written with a lot of space for the gamers to add own ideas. Thanks, Mr. Faust, well done. Now my complete Endtimeers found a place to fit in and also some Sci-fi-Figures without a system...

One thing would be great. The list for play as PDF-Download, better as Word/Excel. Osprey is very slow in putting it to their Website, very slow....

I'm excited about this from a gamer angle but also with Business Annie hat on, could be good for my Ghosts of Gaia range :)
