Leap Spell Movement
« on: 12 February 2016, 04:29:37 AM »
Just wanted to make sure I understand how this would work when moving vertically. If you cast leap on a model that is (let's say) 5" up in a building, do you move the model down the side of the building (vertically) and then along the ground (horizontally) placing them 5" from the building? Or, do you move them diagonally along a straight line to the ground to land 8" (according to the geometry of a triangle) from the building effectively completing a 13" move? The description says to complete a 10" move ignoring the effects of difficult terrain, but doesn't really cover changes in elevation in that move.

It has been mentioned by Joe that leap does not protect figures from falling and if they travel more than 3" down they will take regular falling damage. A leaping figure cannot "climb" so you couldn't use leap move halved to safely climb down 5". Leap is great for up but down is another matter :-) that beeing said combine Leap with a ring of slowfall and you can go up and down at will with no issues.
