A crazy plan???
« on: February 16, 2016, 06:38:35 AM »
I have never kit bashed.  I also have limited patience and like projects completed quickly.
BUT...................

I am having difficulty finding Tolkien style elves.
What I think could work is using ebob Normans with GW elf heads/helmets and some additional cloaks.

Is this an achievable project?  Will GW heads fit in ebob Normans?  How to do the cloaks?  Will I just buy all the individual parts and never finish the project?

I don't expect an answer to the last question, but help/ideas regarding the other questions would be appreciated.

GW war hammer parts are usually bigger than historical ranges, though I don't know how Ebob in particular scale as I tend to kitbash using historical plastics

GW Lord of the rings elves are smaller than their warhammer elves. They might scale better with bob, but I can't be sure.
Theres more 28mm Superhero Madness at my blog, http://fourcoloursupers.blogspot.com/
And for Ultra-modern Wargaming check out Hotel Zugando at http://ultramoderngaming.blogspot.co.uk/

Last Alliance elves are too small, closer to "real" 25 mm. LOTR's Wood elves with/without armour are also plastic and a good match with Ebob normans.
GW The Hobbit Wood elves also fit well, but it is an expensive option for ten heads.
I found this picture in a quick search. LOTR elves heads are the same size as the Rohan warrior here.

Thanks.  I was thinking of War Hammer elf heads through Hoard-o-bits.

You could use GW's LOTR elves. Their elf model line is fairly big. It includes heroes, armored elves and unarmored Silvan Elves.

eBob very much has slight, fine models; the heroic scale of Warhammer on the other hand is massive. Those two extremes most certainly are not going to match. Even some of the LotR figures will look wrong combined with eBob's, although the latest Mirkwood figures (Hobbit series) are probably similarly slender.
