Wizards from Cultists Sprues???
« on: February 20, 2016, 05:49:41 PM »
Anyone make a Wizard from the Cultists Sprue? If so, got pics? Or recommend a Cult looking wizard to lead Cultists warband?

Thanks

Otherworld minis have some good cultist type wizards IIRC.

Bodies from cultist box, bitz various gw bitz mostly from the empire wizard set.

You can have them for a tenner  :D (I have a bunch of metal wizards ill be using as wizards, just had to bash some for reasons...)

Those are an argument to pick up a GW wizards box. Thanks for the pics. Love the kitbash!

True... there are also bitz from chaos marauders, empire flaggelants, skaven plaguemonks... so they might get a bit pricey...

besides: a box of 2 gw wizards costs about the same as a box of frostgrave cultist...

All too true, but the wizard bitz will go quite a ways with the Cultists box. For me, I think a great kitbash for wizards would include one cultist sprue, The GW wizard heads and accessories, and the Fireforge Templar Knights or Mounted Templar knights for the cloaks. I wish Fireforge would sell the command sprue separate from their boxed sets like Perry Miniatures does.

I mix the cultist box with a box of fireforge footsargeants... a whole lot of bang for your buck!

Another option instead of Fireforge cloaks (which I also love) are the animal skins from the Agema Velites box.

Each sprue of 8 has a skin and a head with the animal's head on top:

The box set is really quite cheap and I'm thinking about using the furs to kitbash a witch and apprentice. As a bonus you might be able to use some of the other bits to make some Javeliners too.

I don't have a photo, but I was going to make a Thaumaturge with the cultist body already shown above, a hooded soldier head, and the cultist mace, with some bits and bobs for flavor.
