Damn, I thought these were Mickey Mouse Marines at first  ;)

Yeah, that contrast between dark and stark white in the background takes a second for the eyes to adjust. Thought EXACTLY the same thing, though on a table would like fine.

Unless a snowscape...  :D

Oh, I guess I should apologize for having dark green shoulder pads...it's a look I liked, and have decided to stick with!  lol  This thread is not for purists! :D

You keep apologizing, and I'll start my usually song and dance of 'let me alleviate your pain; ship them to me IMMEDIATELY!'  lol

I put the Contemptor Dreadnought up for sale when I first got it because the legs/pose suck...and the face/helmet was dumb.
...

Had to look it up; didn't look THAT bad... Until I looked back at yours. Brilliant!  ;)

Keep going; I'll be back!

Doug

Thanks for the kind words.  I've got the rest of the small force basically planned out.  It's rather nice to have a small achievable goal.  Looking at another 20 or so marines, a couple of rhinos, a custom vehicle, and then some kind of tank/fast attack I've yet to determine.

My biggest beef with the BaC dread is just that they miffed a few things.  The stance always looks awkward and the face is really crap.  While the Forgeworld versions have a cool look, the BaC fell flat.

^Has a cool helmet, and some dynamism...they have a ton of variations obviously.

The BaC has weird leg placement and the head...but the head is easy to replace. I figured since I was changing some stuff I'd just go whole hog and go a little nuts!  lol

Ah, I think I was seeing the Forgeworld one when I went looking; still think yours is better, but I do see what you mean about the other, though more about the silly 'head-on-a-shelf.'

However, the devil's advocate in me says, 'hey, it's a mostly dead guy; you want animation?'  lol

Yeah, it's hard to explain.  I guess it was odd considering how good the Heresy marines were...to the very underwhelming dreadnought.  But, easy fix.  Looks like a lot of folks have cut/adjusted the legs and replaced the head.  It was an easy enough fix, some plasticard and some bits.

I knocked out five more "combat engineer" marines.  Just bashing together some bits.  Wanted a rough-n-dirty "we get stuff done" look to them.  I've decided I'll be selling off this marine force on ebay and starting a new Eldar project.  I'll be finishing three more jump marines and then off it all goes!  Hoping it will fund a healthy portion of my Eldar purchases.

This ended up being the final force, selling them off on ebay to fund my new secret project!  It was a fun little venture.

Brilliant force! It's almost enough to make me dust off my old Space Wolves! ;)
