Some new 4 ground stuff
« on: April 01, 2016, 08:53:49 PM »
I just ordered some 4 ground terrain items and figured I would share.  First is their forest templates.  http://www.4ground.co.uk/bases-and-movement-trays/4ground-large-tree-base They made basing a breeze.  The base has a laser cut marker on the bottom card to line up the top and the tree inserts are 60mm in diameter.  The nice thing is they also sell 60mm bases that fit neatly into the insert base allowing you to use the same template for both forest and rough terrain.  I scratch built all the trees and textured the bases up.  Here are the photos.

Next are two of their wagons.  Having never assembled a MDF kit before, I was pleasantly surprised.  They were easy to assemble and actually look pretty good right out of the pack.  With a little dressing up it it would be hard to tell that they were card.  Overall I was pretty happy with them.  The only thing that they needed were bases.  Without the bases they would be too fragile for my tastes.  One thing that I can say is that you can't beat the price.  Here are the photos.

Looking good. :)

I know someone who used the wagons for wild west-themed Malifaux boards, but IIRC they were wood, not card? Maybe I'm thinking of something different.

They are MDF so a hybrid between the two.  I think it is 1mm thick for the wagons so it looks like card and that is what stuck in my head.  Thanks for the comps.

It's definitely MDF...but very thin!  I love the wagons, have plenty.

Nice. I'm thinking of picking up a few 4Ground things myself from Salute.

After this order I am stopping in their booth when I go to pick up some other things that I did not get this go around.
