Don't want to sound like a button counter, but...

Although they have muskets, these are mere infantrymen.
The King's Musketeers were a cavalry regiment. (Although they also fought on foot)

Gary, Glynis, and Alasdair (there are three of us, but we are too mean to have more than one login)

ok musketeers then since you care to pick nits the term musketter for infantry predates the eliet guard unit.

Sorry wasn't trying to nitpick.

Musketeer as a term could be anyone carrying a musket.
Foot or Horse, or even Dragoon

Muskets were in widespread use long before the King's Musketeers.
But since En Garde gives profiles for King's Musketeers in the sample lists I just pitched in in an excess of enthusiasm.

Please accept my sincere and profound apologies.

Nice choice, there is no reason not to use a later period.
'So do all who see such times. But that is not for us to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that we are given.'

No apology necessary.

Not a lot later Joroas - they are still using slowmatch, even if they have got plug bayonettes.

They are from the Reign of Louis XIV perido proper rather than the earlier time frame of Louis XIII/Richelieu though they are close enough for both I belive.
