No - at this moment the plan is to use a sponge effect as see here;

Great little tutorial that. Thanks for highlighting it. I don't generally like the MaK aesthetic, but that's a really impressive build nonetheless!

I'm not sure I like the Green on Brown camouflage - so I've re-basecoated the hull and turret. My plan now is for a sand coloured hull and a green turret.

I'm using this model (image found on the Internet) as inspiration.

I didn't really want to say anything but I thought that colour combination didn't work at all so I'm glad you changed your mind!

Also, the sponged edges for the camo pattern were not the best choice, I think. Better to paint the camo as a pattern with a defined edge, otherwise it blends too much with your chipping and wear, making it visually confusing.

I had come to pretty much the same conclusion. I thought that is would work, but for some reason the aircraft camo just didn't work on the tank.

Stay tuned there's more.....

Couple more nice builds at Commiesfest yesterday.

Both in 1/20th scale.

Yours is coming along.

Thank you.

I would have liked to have added some Gerry Cans (as seen in these images) but I couldn't find any in the right scale. I even thought about scratch building a couple!

I've been assuming that this is 28mm, as what other scale is there (ducks and runs for cover  ;D). If you have chosen the one true scale, Dixons do a pack of 20 for £3.75 - link

What scale is it?

It's FREE FORM!

No, seriously, I had expected it to fit in with (large) 28mm/32mm wargame figures, but this is too large for these figures. I have tried 40mm (Graven Images) and these are too bulky. So I believe it is 1/48th scale and have some Revel Luftwaffe ground crew that I have been converting as crew.

So in answer to your question - I believe it is 1/48th, but it might be 1/43rd!

Well if its 1/48, Tamiya does a rather good tank extras kit with fabic rolls, jerry and allies containers, barrels etc.

Img via cybermodeler

I've used lots of bits from that set, infact, I may need to get another. All sorts of nice set dressings in there - bags, rucksacks, etc.

Lots of nice fiddly details for you to add, and id say 1:48 is the true scale for 28*...

Cheers

Painting of the new colour scheme continues. I have used the same sponge technique as the earlier example, but I think the new colour combination works better.

The painting (take two) continues.

First another 'sponged-on' highlight.

Then a couple of washes.
