Does look nice enough, but not at that price.

I love me some Dwarven Forge, but I've passed on the last three Kickstarters.  I already have loads of caverns and once they went away from Dungeon style tiles and went into 3D elevated terrain I lost all interest.  They're definitely priced knowing there will be heaps of unlocks (they've gotten into the millions on previous KS).

Always love Stefan's enthusiasm and they're already killing it with this KS ($630,000+).  Not for me though.

Fair play the Dwarven Forge stuff is nice, although it should be for the price! Unfortunately it's quite a bit out of my price range.

I just watched the building demo...and have to say, despite the cost, it does look pretty well designed.  If I had loads of spare cash I could see them useful for games like Lion Rampant etc.  I have zero need for castle bits for a dungeon crawl, but for a table-top option of building up a modular castle it's pretty spiffy.  The magnets are a solid idea.

I've done the other kickstarters, but I'm hesitating with this one.  It's pricy and then you have to paint it, and with my record of painting stuff, we're looking at a black castle looming over a black village above a black dungeon... Not sure if I can justify it to myself, let alone Michael.  At least I have several days to think it over before I pull the trigger (or not).

My main gripe..is that I'm planning to do dungeon crawls, not village/castle/table crawls.  I was pretty upset when they ditched the wonderful tavern-inspired pieces and opted for the really weird agent modular buildings (a design which still looks horrible to me).

The castle, likewise is a huge step away from dungeon crawling, and while offering an interesting idea...would be more suitable for table-top battles (methinks).  Short of revisiting normal dungeon stuff (hopefully with this new material they can produce more proper dungeon stuff in larger scale pieces) or bringing a proper tavern set, I'm probably done with their KS.  I'll be picking up some bits here and there form their webstore eventually.

The castle (while pretty cool) also strikes me as one of those "high dollar, rarely used" items.  It seems to be that way with a lot of gaming stuff.  The big masterpieces you spend all your money on get the least amount of table-time!   lol

Looks nice.  But we have a considerable amount of MBA castle bits - more than enough for our needs.  (But it does look cool, though).
