Thanks, all!

I do like the one with the ad mech arms: very cool!

Cheers! He has a cousin from earlier in the thread:

It's a weird quirk of photographing miniatures that the newer guy looks worse in close-up but a lot better to the naked eye on the table!

pish-posh to that, I bet they were amazing and sadly what I feel a lot of current 40K and other gaming is sadly missing nowadays.
But not on this forum obviously  ;) :D

Yeah, I'd agree!

Really enjoying your space critters. Anthropomorphic animals are a favorite of mine. I've got a big gang of them further down in the queue.

Thanks, eilif! Yeah, you can't go wrong with beast-people as aliens!

Here's a new project: some kit-bashed caravan guards for a desert-planet scenario. I recently read Jack Vance's City of the Chasch, and it's inspired me to have a go at putting together a scenario based on a big, ponderous, heavily armed caravan travelling through hostile territory.

Napoleonics with orc headswaps? That is such a simple but effective, ehm, effect; it's just great!  :-*
Miniatures you say? Well I too, like to live dangerously...

Thanks - yes, exactly that: Victrix Old Guard with Oathmark orc and goblin heads. I'm sure I'm not the first person to have done it, but it works quite well for a sword-and-planet setting, I think. I've got some mounted outriders and more "traditional" warriors and scouts underway too.

Very effective.

Jack Vance's City of the Chasch! Tschai was the first science fiction novel I ever read. My teacher in school made me read in when I was 12 years old.  :)

I never think much before WW2 when looking for figures to convert for SF, that I would never have thought of that, but it really works.

Time to look through the sprue box and see what can be re-tasked ???

You and me both, now just where are all those Wargames Illustrated sprues?

Inspired  :D

Thanks, everyone!

Here's a conversion I did a few years ago. He's been languishing in a box about 80% painted since then. I'll probably make a few more of these: I like the pulp-sci-fi/science-fantasy vibe that they have.

Some super-inspired work here; the Victrix Naps are my favourite!

Thanks very much!

Yes, mine too: I have the caravan outriders and some close-combat types underway to swell their ranks!

Blue works exceptionally well for an orc. Never seen that before, only green or flesh coloured.

Oh, I like that Lizorc, I can just imagine him and his filthy kind lurking in the forgotten jungles of a Michael Moorcock book...
