I got out all of my Medieval terrain, some quite old:

and some newer:

and rummaged through my boxes of late medieval armies to put together four 24 pt retinues for a bash. I ended up with an English and Burgundian force allied for some 15th century raiding against two French retinues.

Fun was had, dice were rolled, cottages and my new church were looted and burnt by the "Goddams"....
I was pleased that my armies, based on 40x40 squares work just fine with LR. Although I derped and grabbed four stands for each unit of sergeants, just like I had grabbed four 3 figure stands for the archers and crossbows, forgetting that my melee foot are based FOUR to a stand. Didn't notice until my English billmen got into a fight in a laneway with some French mounted crossbowmen.. I just took off a four figure stand when it took three casualties.

But I like how the rules bang along easily and one player could easily handle double sized armies. My opponent was a novice to the rules too.

More pictures and verbage on the game over at my blog: http://www.rabbitsinmybasement.blogspot.ca/2016/02/bigger-lion-rampant-game.html

But LR has me excited about things Medieval again, so it's nice to get old friends out of their boxes (some of the figures in the pictures are 30 years old!) and revisit some units and figures pushed to the back burner for a few years and get them finished.
