WW1 Bolt Action Battle Report
« on: March 09, 2016, 12:29:20 PM »
Last weekend saw another WW1 Bolt Action clash between Colonel Pip and his arch nemesis Oberst Krapstuka.

The scenario was sort of a sequel to our last game with a British under strength platoon in a forward defensive position/ruined village supported by 2 damaged Mark IV tanks. The British were to reinforce and hold this position with two further platoons supported by MGs, Mortars, artillery and 2 whippet tanks.  The German objective was to capture it.

The Germans had a bit less infantry and no tanks so to even up the points they were made up to veterans and they had a number of off table artillery strikes.

The British advanced forward moving out from their trenches.

Right from the start the ruined village was subject to a dastardly off table bombardment whittling down and pinning the defenders and destroying the tanks. The Whippet tanks were kept a bay by anti-tank rifles and field guns. Once suitably depleted, the sneaky German veterans advanced forward encroaching on the position. The British alas came off worse from the close range fire fight and close assaults which ensued.

After suffering heavy casualties the heroic British decided to concede the game and make a tactical withdrawal.

Great game! Where is the game mat from?

There are no official BA WW1 rules available. We used our own amendments to the BA WW2 rules.
