Vienna 1683 - Pike and Shotte or Black Powder?
« on: February 17, 2017, 10:54:00 AM »

Which of the Warlord Games rules would you recommend to most enjoy this conflict?

Also interested in other recommendations. I like streamlined rules and large battles, not looking for skirmish or detailed simulations with lots of tables/dice rolls. Also considering Twilight of the Sun King but flexibility to use the same rules for other periods is a bonus.

Thank you

Maybe check out Beneath the Lily banners v2 by League of Augsburg. It fits the period but im not sure if it has rules for the Ottomans.

Of the 2 rule sets I would probably go with Pike and Shotte but my knowledge of Black Powder is minimal. I have only played it a couple of times but it is definitely designed for later warfare.
