Ladies Night in the Jungle -- Pulp Alley
« on: March 17, 2016, 05:44:23 PM »
Here're some photos of a Pulp Alley scenario (Smash & Grab) played by Bessy (right) and Melissa (center) ---

Bessy was playing Jungle Princess Tigra (Leader), Shaytan (Sidekick), and the Brothers of the Last Temple (3 x Allies) ---

Princess Tigra's goal is to prevent the looting of the Old Temple, but the arrival of the Cult of the Nameless complicates matters ---

Shaytan and Brother Wind capture the Traitorous Guide (Plot Point) before he can escape with his ill-gotten loot ---

Meanwhile, one of the cultists moves in to investigate a rustling in the undergrowth --- "Ha ha, no problem. It iz just a little kitty!" ---

But turn after turn, Mrs. Tibbles (Plot Point) proved to be too much for him to handle (Perils! Perils! Perils!) ---

Brother Earth blocks the path of the Faceless One and somehow (Fortune card) survives the full force of her strange magical attack! ---

Jungle Princess Tigra reaches the temple and takes the Seven-Eyes Relic (Plot Point). A cultist watches from a safe distance and then retreats - fearing to engage the jungle legend ---

Searching the campsite, a pair of cultists locate and capture the Tomb Robber (Plot Point) ---

Brother Earth quickly approaches Lili (Ploy Point), "Come with me if you want to live." ---

Brother Fire moves to block the Faceless One as Brother Earth looks for a way to get Lili to safety --

Tigra is injured takings out a cultist and the Tomb Robber breaks free. The Faceless One smells blood and rushes to engage the princess of the jungle ---

In an epic fight, The Faceless One's magic proved too strong for Tigra and she is knocked to the ground ---

By turn #6, the hapless cultist get some assistance and Mrs. Tibbles is finally cornered and captured! ---

At the last moment, Tigra struggles back to her feet, re-captures the Seven-Eyes Seal and calls for her league to escape into the jungle (The End) ---

And for all their trouble the Nameless Cultists have only a mean-spirit cat ---

The ladies had a great time playing Pulp Alley and are ready for a rematch!!  :D

That looks absolutely fantastic Dave! I love the Ark of the Covenant plot point! I really like the modular board too, the color is amazing  - what is the board made out of?

Hmmm... I think Tigra was made by Copplestone... maybe?  ;D

The tiger is by Reaper.

The bald dudes are some old miniatures for Legend of the Five Rings game. I bet they are still being made, but I don't know it would be anymore.

The board is basically 4 18"x18" self-adhesive vinyl tiles stuck to 4 squares of blue Styrofoam. Then we coated it with "texture goo". We actually posted the WIP photos, but that was years ago.  ;)

I thought the Tigra figure was an old Foundry one from a Tarzan and Jane set, but I can't find it on their website. It's a figure I've used for numerous flesh paint tests, but have never actually fullly painted.

Equally, it could well be Copplestone (I was buying a lot of both their figures at the time), but I can't find it on their website either.

Great game by the way, looks like it was a lot of fun

It is, indeed, a Wargames Foundry Darkest Africa figure in set DA016 Deadlier than the Male.
