Well....hell....I just realized I did not update this! We had a great pair of games. Three newbies and a score of people passing by asking questions.
The games were with my "Sister Mary Elephante" character and a pair of scenarios I may be using at our convention this Summer:
The first was VS a pair of ghouls and a cultist with a long gun...they actually fell much, much easier than I expected. I think I just played like shit to be honest. Needs another playtest (maybe with me playing solo and like crap for both sides). This was the grave robber scenario so I was hoping for a much closer game with two ghouls on the table.
The second was VS a trio of witches, one on a broom and two mobs of familiars and a Devil's Cauldron. Again the good guys won a bit easier than I anticipated but this time I am not sure why...he fired off all spells and that was a bit of a chore for a newbie (need to have prepared cards for spells). The mobs of familiars always spook the newbies...but they fall fast.
{edit} ...and the phrase for the day (and going forward as I like it too much!) is "There are no saving throws against Cthulhu magic!"
