British Infantry 28mm
« on: March 18, 2016, 01:59:03 PM »
Hi All,

After a long break from painting I'm back at it again.  Here's the first squad of my wife's Bolt Action British Army, apparently painting it is my job.  As pointed out by Zeebeest in my "hello" post this should be considered a labour of love  :-*

I know my painting's not that good.  As long as it looks OK (ish) for the table then I'm happy.  Comments and improvement ideas are gratefully received, just be gentle with me :)

These models are from the Warlord British Infantry box set painted with a selection of Vallejo and Games Workshop paints/washes.

Cheers,
Paul

They look spot on Paul, is it the camera flash that's given them a bit of a sheen? It's only my opinion mind, but WW2 sowjers look better really matt, here'a a product that's never let me down in that department...

Yes Harry I agree matt is best. They do have a coat of Velejo Matt Varnish. As you say the flash has given them a bit of a sheen.

Cheers,
Paul

They are very nice. The face is the focal point of a miniature and these show a lot of character.

I'm also guessing your wife likes lavender lol

Nice work! 8)

Note that the upper part of the Lee Enfield should be painted as wood too...

Thank you Calimero.  I'll amend the ones I'm currently working on and go back to correct these once I get some time.   :)

Nice. I like that in my mind that right hand side medic is a heavy wine drinker.

Nice idea. Whilst painting him I couldn't get the idea out of my head that the left hand sniper is based on Dick Strawbridge.
