Spanish Guerrillas - Brigade Games
« on: March 24, 2016, 12:57:44 AM »
Brigade Games' Spanish Guerrillas.    I wasn't too sure on how to paint the ones with uniform jackets.  Looked up a few examples of Spanish line and picked the one that seemed to match.

Great!! I love them

Any chance of scale comparison with Victrix ?

I am eyeing them for Italian guerillas for 1799

I really like how you have painted these.

I think you are about right for the uniforms (which has a lovely white by the way- crisp and even). I think some of the guerillas in uniform used to be regular army and deserted or their units were destroyed and so they joined the guerillas, so the white and blue works. You could mix it up to with different facings etc- after all they may have been in different regiments. I believe some guerilla units also had their own uniforms too, and these were of their own designs (probably to try to stop the French hanging them as spies if they were captured, which I doubt was very successful). A few even looted shakos and other bits of uniform form the French dead as trophies.

Sure. I only have one Victrix mini put together and painted from the French 1807 box.  But one is enough.  Threw in a Perry plastic too. From left to right that is Brigade Games, Victrix, Brigade Games, Perry.     They also sell packs of British and French sailors and some look really close to the guerrillas.

I know Northstar has some Brigade Games minis.  Maybe they can order them.

I considered painting each in uniform with different facing colors, but decided that having different colors would be distracting.  I choose the light blue facing color just because I thought it went well with the white.

For southern Italians I need they (Tyrolians) dress to differently, but Spaniards should be very Ok.

Would the Italian Guerillas from Gringo40s work for you?
