In the Matchbox Sky Buster range, there are a few aircraft that could probably be fettled to work... I like the Sky Safari (which has titlt rotors) and the Turbo Tornado. Both would be good options for a small, manned VTOL or large VTOL drone.

how about the robogear condor nice and cheap  :)

Cheers Ian

Damn, I was afraid someone would beat me to suggesting the product of our Russian friends.  lol

I THINK the Hornet might be a bit easier to rotate the blowers into 'lift fans.'

This one is worth a shot at the price:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/151629758964?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

I got 3 and am quite pleased with them for 15mm, might be a bit small for 25 though, but no smaller then some of the suggestions made. You could convert it into a drone.

Well, the Robogear cockpits are the right size, if the rest of the craft a bit dwarf, of the super-deformed variety.

However,  ugly, simple, and damn good price; that DOES seem the ticket! If only they could actually reduce shippage for quantity...

Heck, looks as if you might take a Robogear cockpit and put on the 4d ship, at which point, if you've a use for some other Robogear parts, say, a two- or six-legged walker base, they reused some of the parts throughout the Robogear series.

Sorry, now I'm probably just getting silly.  :?

Thank you all for the suggestions. Some great new stuff I hadn't seen.

However nothing that quite grabbed my attention and met what was in my imagination.

I do like this that inso suggested

But not in MDF, and possibly with two rotors/fans, not one.

So... I have "A Plan!"

Involving...

And plasticard and green stuff and brass wire.

To make something to land on these...

I will do, some initial work done this afternoon, pictures to follow on my blog and here.

I have long term plans, and I'm nothing if not patient.

For a longer description and back story try here...

Looks great! Do you think the cockpit would work for two 15mm figures?
