We have great delight in announcing that an article we wrote detailing the philosophy behind the show will be published in the next issue (issue 84) of Wargames, Soldiers & Strategy magazine. The magazine will be on sale from the 16th April 2016 - the first copies being on sale at the Salute show in London on that date - so if you do not already subscribe to that excellent magazine we urge you to do so now.

Bookings are starting to come in now. So far we have the following:
12 trade stands with another 17 interested
         A Bring and Buy stand
         12 Public Participation wargames
A fun wargame with edible prizes
1 Plastic Kit Model display with more to follow
1 Re-enactment display with more to follow
1 Model Railway display with a working goods yard and public participation shunting puzzle

For more details of our show visit our website - www.teesshows.co.uk - or our show Facebook page - https://www.facebook.com/motpg12016 for the latest developments.

For those of us who don't read/buy that publication, would you like to enlighten us here?

Thanks

Read the other day and would agree with pretty much everything apart from the participation a games bit.

A show needs demos games which can showcase the best the hobby has to offer and as long as the people staffing it are able to talk to and engage with the public I don't see why they shouldn't be included  :)

I'll not go on but leave it at that  ;)

cheers

What jimbibbly said. Well-run and well-staffed demo games have their place at shows in the UK - many visitors are not bothered about playing, but like to chat about the game, sometimes watch a turn being played through, but don't want to hang around long enough to play. Also some games do not lend themselves to a participation format, being too long or complex to involve a casual visitor for a number of turns. I'm fully in favour of participation games (and indeed am running one at at least four shows this year), but demos have their place too.

Just to play devil's advocate, will the model railway display at your show be participation?😉

    • Four A miniatures
Four A miniatures will be attending the show this Year.

This will be the third wargames show of the Year for us.

If all goes to plan i may even have some castings of future releases with me ;).

Hope to see some of the locals at the show.
