Work continues at an amazing pace! Well for me anyway. I got 2 more Units based up and ready for greenery. Applying my formula paste to the metal stands, is my least favorite part of the process. I always manage to get it all over a couple of figures. It's mindless, tedious, frustrating  work. I managed to do about 30 stands this past week. Not only that, I also was able to drybrush the entire lot. One coat of Ochre and one coat of Sand (both FolkArt cheapo paints). The Ochre dulls down the Bitter Chocolate earth color and the Sand color really makes the "rocks" pop.
This week will feature lots of tufts, grasses, flowers and weeds. Perhaps a downed branch or two. This is the way the stands look right before the grass mixtures are applied.

Lovely work. 

But a question for you based on the six figure stands and 30 -36 figures per unit.  What rules are you using?  Lovely to have such large units but "oh, what a pain to paint"!  (you avoid by having someone else paint, it seems). 

My FIW are 46-49 figures per - including 4 casualty figures and it has been three-and-a-half slogs to get past the half way point, if I'm that far.  My next largest units are only 25 figures each - so much easier to churn out a unit with fewer figures.

I do not game, so my stands are just what looks good to me. I just enjoy setting the terrain and figures. I stink at painting figures, which is why someone else does it. But I'm pretty good at terrain and bases so that's where I concentrate.
