Oh, MY !!

I thought I finished my Afghan painting in '14  !

These will need to join their 186 fellow Pathans, no question.

Agreed, Chick, I too will be ordering all the Perry Afghans.  I assume they're larger than the Pathans they sculpted for Wargames Foundry 20 or so years ago, but of similarly impressive quality.  I wonder if perhaps in the near future they might add some Afghan regulars to their catalogue...?!?!?!

Really nice additions and very welcome! They will be added to lead pile! Lovely characters!

(As an aside, though, one thing confuses me (not difficult). I need a lot more Afghans than I do British regulars. Why do the Brits in plastic and the Afghans in metal? Not moaning as I'll happily buy these tribesmen and they're most welcome, just confused?).

I'd hazard two guesses on why metal Afghans -

If you need hundreds, then you spend more
If you need hundreds, then plastic takes so much more time to get ready to paint.

Personally, although they run a business, I don't think the Perrys would go for the first option, but I think the second may be why.

I'd rather metal myself. Plastic rarely look as good made up by the average wargamer as they do by the very few.  Plus the time spent assembling can be a real turn off...

Others may have different views...

Taller yet slighter in stature than the WF Afghans is probably a good approximation  :)

my thought are similar to the ones expressed by Guru.....in fact Afghans/NWF Tribesmen are far more, as all native armies, attractive if made in plastic...not only you need more of them..but you also need more of them to make conversions/variations for similar kind of natives...you will also consider, as i actually did,  very useful to store bits (heads, arms, weapons, equipment) in a box that will frequently come very useful...on the other hand, your few metal European/Regulars once carefully painted will be the core for quite a few  campaigns ..being regulars and, normally, with few positions (line/skirmish, firing) standard type weapons and headgear...they 'll not call for , except personalities, crews ecc.., many satisfying conversion possibilities..
having painted and converted Perry Ansars i find them, except for their weight, more attractive than metal..
anyway..i think that Afghans/NWF tribesemen being so popular and also usable as proxy for other Armies in various ages would be, sooner or later, produced in plastic by somebody....probably also by some other manufacture which is not Perry
