Excellent work.  Cool (pun) background.  Would have been fun if he was hiding in a dessert region.

Thank you both so much!

Technically speaking, a frozen landscape can be a desert  :D (Antarctica qualifies as such due to the low level of precipitations). But yeah, I get what you mean. But the figure demanded such paintjob.

Greatness is achievable for those willing to pay the set price...

Desert Shaman from Vae Victis Miniatures. Will work as a sorcerer/witch type of mage (definitely not one of the good kind). I added the candle on the skull to make her more like the Occultist from Darkest Dungeon. I also freehanded the pattern on the edge of her tunic.

Beautiful work on that figure! There is a lot going on there and I like the palette you used.

Fantastic! You've packed a lot of character and expression into what little face is exposed!

Thank you all so much!
This model in particular was available in two versions, one without the veil and the other veiled (the version I’ve painted). This further adds to the air of mistery and otherworldliness.

For the scene I painted a couple of thick cardboard slabs (those that come with IKEA furnitures) with cheap acrylics, and put on some of the scenery I have. Quite effective, though I’m still musing about substituting the backdrop with a printed image that I’ll place further from the camera.

Wow. You're blowing it out of the park recently - that's another stunning paintjob!

Happy new year fellow forum lurkers!

I'm quite happy because I've managed to have my first painted miniature of the year painted during January. It is sort of a mental milestone that I've reached, and this may lead to a more steady workflow this year. We'll see. At the moment I'm currently painting some scenery, which I sort of dreaded for a long time ("but I could be painting figures in that time, duh").

Bandit from Vae Victis Miniatures, supportless design printed in 15mm scale. After some considerations, I think I want to further expand my collection in this direction. It's a very satisfactory scale to work in.

Contrast for scale purposes because I don't have a Space Marine or that sort of things that everybody has at home.

And a darn sight better than I can paint in 28mm. Exquisite brushwork

Three simple and basic skellies to roam my Frostgrave table. I am currently spray painting a big batch of scenery as well. Behind them you can see part of a ruined tower that I did as test piece.
(Everyting in 15mm, ofc)

Wow, that’s beautiful work! It’s hard to believe those are 15mm. Are they more of the 3D prints? I don’t recognize the models.

Yup, 3d prints all of them, from Arbiter Miniatures in this case.
I did some orders back in the day to Alternative Armies, but thanks to a certain political thing that happened, ordering from British manufacturers has become unfeasible. And the other option was American ones (Khurasan or Splintered Light, which in turn are even more expensive.

So, for now, it’s going to be 3d printing for me.

These are just brilliant!!! :o :o

Do you print them yourself or send the files to a printshop?

It’s really a pity that Brexit and the rise of postage has made it quite a feat to order all the noce little models from Khurasan, Splintered Lights and the UK.
