Decapitated Warlock Model Finally Found!
« on: January 01, 2009, 07:34:48 PM »

For nearly a year I had been wanting to buy/sculpt a figure to represent the decapitated warlock from the movie "The Thing that Couldn't Die".

PLOT: About an evil powerful warlocks undying head severed from his body during the witch trials accidentially discovered and trying to find it's lost body so it can return to power.  The head is mind controling modern day people who run afoul of it as slaves to help in it's goal.

I figured there were no more of these models still in production.  Grenadier once made one from the Night Horrors section but it was long out of production.

Anyway I just happened to be looking through a section of miniatures on West Wind I'd never think to look for it and there it was.

Of course, I would find this after spending $50.00 dollars on a big order and being "lead broke" but soon it will be mine!

The Westwind version looks a little too "Harry Potter" than "evil warlock", if you ask me.

Ohhhhh,   come on.....

He's supposed to be dressed in period clothing.

Actually he's just a head but I have found after tinkering a bit too much that heads on logs or on the ground or flying just don't have the right look for a game.

Sooo this was exaclty what I was looking for as far as that is concerned.   Of course if you know of any other decapitated period dressed miniatures with a head nearby.  I'd love to give them a look.     :)

Well, paint him in somber colors and he'll work.

Or there's this... You'd have to haunt (pun intended) eVilBay though.

That was the original.  It's been out of production for a while.  One of our fellow members had one for sale on ebay a while back while my money was low.  Now at least, I can purchase it at my leisure.

You could easily make that model with a few GW imperial bits, and theres even a plastic head available from one of the sets.... I could probably put one together from my bits box

I have that one. I've no intention of parting with it (yet), so there really is no point in me mentionning it, but there you have it. :D
