Thanks chaps   :)

Have started painting three of the tiles:

Base coat - US Field Drab
Heavy drybrush - Iraqui Sand
Light drybrush - Pale Sand

All Vallejo colours that were matched as Matt emulsions at B&Q

Have nearly finished three tiles; woodwork etc is to follow. The tufts were left in situ from before and will be touched up with some green. I'll then crack on with the remaining 3 tiles that will be repurposed before reverting to my GoT project for a bit.

The 6 repurposed tiles won't be enough and in due course I plan to add an additional 3 with river and more of the village (see column to right of the following plan):

My LAF Gallery is HERE
Minis (foot & mounted) finished in 2024 = 32
(2023 = 151; 2022 = 204; 2021 = 123; 2020 = ???)

Nice work.
I'm really looking forward to see the finished vilage with all tile sets done. The Plan looks awesome!

That's brilliant Steve! :o Just a shame you can't use it for both, for this and the sci fi stuff. I suppose in theory, a couple of loose standing radar dishes and tech gibbons would transform it back in a second.

Thanks chaps - not sure when I'll get round to the other tiles as GoT comes first. I'll probably also do a single alternative "village" tile for the Arizona Apache board... Maybe a coral or a field of corn.

That's a really good idea Andy. Some of my SSS minis painted up for the desert would work quite well, methinks. Cheers!

Oh I am glad those boards are going to get used, they looked amazing, just that silly colony wasn't in the propper scale.

Steve, that conglomeration of Adobe's looks perfect mate!!!!! 8) 8) 8) 8) very natural and slightly defensible. Spot on I'd say.

Cheers
Matt

Thanks chaps.  :D

Paintings not yet complete, I still have the wood to turn grey plus some more tufting to be getting on with. I was going to add a few barrels of produce etc (can I recommend those by Boothill Miniatures and also by Oshiro Terrain?  ;)) but have decided not to fix them in place, as they will 'age' etc the board.  Much like the solar panels and sat dish (well done Andy!) they will now be placed as needed.

More soon.

That looks great, mate.
And extremely versatile.
 8) 8)

As for multi-purposing: Go for it.
You may as well get as much use out of existing stuff as possible.
I have a stack of resin bits to pimp my Old West town into the far flung reaches of the galaxy.
So long as they are removable the same buildings can serve, at least, two genres.
 ;)

Cheers Paul and I very much agree.

This landscape (with the odd genre specific tile swapped out) should serve Afghanistan in 1880, Arizona in 1875 (Apache), possibly Sicily in 1943 and now some distant planet way in the future ......

Similarly my temperate board will do GoT (The North/Riverlands), The New World in 1610, Bodmin Moor in the 18th Century and now possibly some distant planet way in the future ....  ;)

 :D
