We gave my Bronze age figures a run out for the first time in ages last night, using the 'Chariots rampant' variant of 'Lion Rampant' from WSS 82.
We had two games. Two because the first one was over very quickly; one player simply couldn't activate anything.
Anyway, two fun games, and the rules worked well; I added a new 'impact chariot' type for the Hittite 3 man chariots with spearmen. These were slower (8" instead of 10") but much better in combat (lower attack roll, and 3+ to hit when attacking). They still have bows and can shoot like other chariots.
We played the 'defending the indefensible' scenario, with some Egyptian priests conducting an religious ceremony near a small tomb at an oasis as the objective.
Egyptians had 1 unit of archers, 1 of spearmen, one of skirmishers defending the priests, then 2 units of skirmish-capable chariots and another unit of skirmishers as reinforcements.
Hittites had 1 unit of impact chariots, one of Syrian chariots, one unit of elite Hittite spearmean, one of Canaanite spearmen, and two skirmishers.
We had one game nearly decided by boasts; one player had two 2 glory boats, and made one and very nearly made the other.
Boasts add a lot to the game
