Bear Yourself Valiantly a new medieval project
« on: April 22, 2016, 04:53:37 PM »
Lewis and I have been talking for months about starting a War of the Roses campaign.... we just needed to find a set of rules that we both liked. We had both enjoyed playing WW2 using Buck Surdu's Combat Patrol rules so decided to give his Medieval, Ancients and Fantasy set; Bear Yourself Valiantly a go.

Please excuse the figures, many of them are only primed. However we wanted to try out the rules before we spent a lot of time painting. The rules were great fun, so much so that we have started a mini-campaign! As we progress we will get more figures painted up and based and keep this thread updated.

Their are further photographs and details in our Hobby Blog at : http://wargamesbuildings.co.uk/Hobby-Pages/Hobby-Blog/Bear-Yourself-Valiantly-the-start-of-A-War-of-the-Roses-project

Is that hex scape terrain I see?

I like the activation system you describe. I'm going to have to borrow it for some of my games.

The terrain we used was the 300mm a/f hex terrain that Martin used to make when he ran Total System Scenic.
Not quite sure what the question is about company size?
Each movement tray with 7 or 8 figures on is a unit or company.
The game flowed really well and we are looking forward to getting some units completed and having our next game.

That's what I meant - because of the way the trays are arranged I thought a company/unit to be made up of several trays.

1 base/tray = unit/company, so 4-8 models, is a good size for large battles, thanks for clearing that up.
