I've been meaning to share this for a while, because I think wargamers who make terrain might find it interesting.
When I met my long time girlfriend, one of the things we had in common was the methods we used for making terrain. The big difference is that I make it really tiny, and she makes it really big.
See, she is a USDA licensed animal educator (been doing it for over 25 years now). This means we have lots of exotic animals that are her spoiled children. One of the things she does is provide them with the best possible enclosures that most resemble their natural environments (of course, many of them have outdoor enclosures as well).
A little over a year ago we purchased a new home, so we are in the process of making all new cages for all the animals. I build the frames and she does all the artistic stonework. The crazy thing is that she uses a lot of the same techniques to do this that we use to build itty bitty terrain for our tabletops.
Here is a link to her facebook page and the photo file she has about building cages.

She does free educational programs all over Wisconsin (USA), so if you live in the state you can look at her events page...I might even be there, as I go to a lot of the big events with her.
Oh, by the way, if you feel so inclined, Like her page! I don't do facebook myself, but apparently the more likes the better
