Inspiration for rifts minis
« on: April 29, 2016, 04:42:30 AM »
So with the amazing start to the savage world's version of Rifts burning up kickstarter (see here: http://kck.st/1SpWM55) I have been thinking about Rifts miniatures to use in my games.  Now I know Palladium has a small line of minis, but they don't  stand up to modern mini sculpts.  Also I think for Rifts I would whether go 15mm over 28mm.  My thoughts right now are focused on the coalition.  There are a number of different  options for the armored infantry with head swaps from the terminator style figures.  Samas powered armor is a huge part of the force too.  The scene used to have Not-SAMAS, but I cannot find them anywhere.  So I think I would modify some khurasan high tech human powered armor.  The next mod I am considering is a UAR-1 Enforcer robot.  I think for a base I am going to use a Patlabor Helldiver mecha. Any suggestions  are definitely  accepted.

Now the old minis have their own character so don't dismiss them too easily. I did find this thread through.

Man I loved that game when I was a kid....

Thanks for the thread it has some good stuff on it.  Although I am thinking of using 15mm.  This allows me to field larger creatures for lower cost, unless Palladium contracts with Reaper to make Rifts bones minis.

If you want 15mm, the Scene UK has some spot-on jetbike/sky cycle figs over here, and some of their not-Terminators could work for skelebots:

The Rebel minis Scourge figs could also work for skelebots, and many of their aliens could be random Dee-Bees:

Their ex-Starship Trooper Bug figs could be good larger critters, too.

Thanks for the info.  I was thinking of using the Superheavy human powered armor for a glitter boy.

They look familiar a bit don't they since Rifts is being discussed.
