Prepping my Forces for Sharp Practice 2...
« on: May 01, 2016, 10:31:54 PM »
First, a note to moderators - if you want this in the Colonial section, please move it. I put it here to be with the other SP2 stuff, but that might be a wrong decision...

Anyway, here is the first bunch of models I have prepped for my Indian Mutiny British force for SP2. It consists of 2 groups of British Regulars with the Enfield rifle. These are by Mutineer miniatures. I think I'm going to paint these as the 53rd Foot...

Then there are 2 groups of Company Infantry. These are Iron Duke Madras Fusiliers with a twist - I wanted a more 'generic' look to the unit so converted the caps to be the more typical covered and neck-curtained peaked forage cap. I think the conversions work well. Not easy to do, but I reckon with a lick of paint they'll look good. I plan to do this unit in a greyish khaki smock with a pale grey cap. Trousers either to match the cap or pale blue dungaree. Haven't decided yet... They can then represent either 3rd Madras Fusiliers, or any of the Bengal European units or even other Queen's troops if need be.

There's a group of skirmishers done the same way. With leaders, that'll be my 'core force'. I have also prepped an Iron Duke artillery piece as the first support option and a musician as the second. I have 6 leaders prepped - 1 x status 3; 2 x status 2 and 3 x status 1. The base sizes show which is which, just to help me and other players remember when I run multiplayer games at the club.

Am busy painting extra troops for another game I'm doing at Partizan in May, but hope to start these soon...

Here's a few dodgy pics taken with the phone to give you an idea.

Very interesting what you have planned.
I have a lot of Foundry IM.
Based in units, four to a stand.
Have most of the Iron Duke British,
was thinking of basing these to play SP2.
Will be following this thread to see what you do.
