Camouflage second test
« on: January 05, 2009, 10:34:47 AM »
Hi everyone.
i want to show you my second try of painting near Future urban camouflage.
Here is the first try (by way of comparision the new and the old version ;) )

And thatīs how it looks now

What do you think about it?
The base will be finished separately with a few rocks, some dried grass, a bit scrap and of course some shot gun shells :)

Like the new one better. The first old 'Imperial Guard' camo never really did it for me  :)
Ask at the LAF, and answer shall thy be given!

Absolutely agree. I am not up on GW colour schemes, but thats exactly what the first one reminded me of. I liek the subtle look of the second one.

I like the new scheme better though the miniature as a whole doesn't look very effectively camouflaged, it looks more as if the camouflage is a fashion statement. Despite that though I think it's a very nice colour scheme :)

The second one is much better and looks nicely painted. That said, I agree with Pil's comment. It looks more like a fashionable jacket than actual camo.
So many projects..... so little time.......

Thanks for your feedback.

The Cop you see above will be something like the Combine Civil Protection Metrocops (Half Life 2). Thats why the camouflage looks more like fashion and why i painted the pants fieldgrey with two white lines at the outside. (I really like the look of Civil Protection)
Not really inconspicuous but i think it looks cool and it declares the model to be something like a Cop :)

In a few weeks iīm going to paint 6 Soldiers with real camouflage uniforms and of course battlearmor (donīt know how to paint this, but hey. In the moment 3 more Cops waiting to be finished ;) ).
Those soldiers will be completely camouflaged because itīs their job to rush against Rebells and Scavengers. The Cops job will be similar to the one of a chief judge on his "great wandering" in the outlands ;), so scouting the country and bringing the law to the lawless...

Greetings

Freezing cold outside itīs probably the best decision to stay inside and paint some more figures.
Yesterday evening i painted the second mini (the right one on the image).
And it is the same figure used for my first camouflage try (the linked image in the topic post)
Well, the old camouflage looks really horrible if you compare the new to the old one on the same mini  :-X
