Lanchester Mk.II (15mm)
« on: May 06, 2016, 04:59:15 AM »

This is my 1:100 scale (15mm) Lanchester Mk.II that I had printed in high-definition black acrylate by Shapeways.

The colour is supposed to be the British army's Deep Bronze Green, their standard peace-time colour for AFVs on home service during the interwar period. It's a colour that consistently defeats me; I can never seem to get close to it. Vallejo do a Bronze Green in their VMC range, but it's nothing like the army colour, being more like the colour of actual green bronze.

Regardless, I think it looks great and the quality print shows of your design work nicely.

I misread the title as Lancaster Mark II!

Lovely bit of work. I reckon your interpretation of bronze green is pretty good, based on the somewhat dubious colour match from on prewar Dinky toys!

Lovely model, as to a reasonable approximation of Bronze Green, a 50:50 mix of VMC Grey Green & Russian Uniform works, though is perhaps a little faded looking. The PSC British armour spray can is also an acceptable starting point.

I collected a 28mm Lanchester from our local 3D print mob, OTP Terrain. It is a marvellous piece and the envy of a couple of our club members when shown on Wed. Thank you for permitting the print, I will be getting a second piece.
Cheers,

Nicely done!
