I bought the rulebook at Salute as subscribing to WI gave me a £25 Warlord Games voucher to use on the day, and they were doing the rulebook and any £20 plastic box set for £30, so it seemed a no brainer. I got the concord set as they are vanilla enough to work into something else. The rulebook is nice to look at, the fluff is ok, and the rules seem solid enough, but again, nothing in it 'wowed' me, it was a real struggle to actually read through the fluff - it seemed at one stage to be 'Look how clever we are with all the big words and phrases we use/have come up with for our game'. It didn't flow, and at times seemed very dry and technical - more like reading a technical manual of some sort, which is a shame as the basic premise of the universe for the game is pretty good.
