Unsurprisingly, thy look not dissimilar to their earlier Afghans, the ones they did for Foundry. Those were some of their nicer figures from that era and still available to this day. Combine the two for more variety.

YES!!!

Those old Foundry NWF tribesmen are some of my favorite figures of all-time.  Time to put my order in for these excellent new cousins of theirs, along with the set of 3 boxes of plastic British Inf. with bonus figure of wounded Lt. Olivey -- a version of which I converted for myself back in 2010 for a 130th Anniversary game, but which as a Maiwand completist, I must now add to my collection -- and some Carlist BAL figures to behead for converting Retreat from Moscow French into 44th Regt. Brits in Winter 1841-'42 Kabul!  My birthday was not long ago, so this will count as a late gift for myself.

My blind hope is that the Perry's next addition to this Victoria's Little Wars range of theirs might be a, "Last Stand of the Guides at the Residency," pack.  As a Second Afghan War gamer for several decades and a huge Perrys fan, that would be very nice indeed... but this is pretty awesome as it is!

very good...considering this first excellent batch of figures and the image depicting the link of this new "Victorian Small Wars" range...maybe we should expect new exiting subjects for this period..hope more late 19 c. than earlier..NWF has endless of unexplored possibilities....medics caring, rescuing  for wounded (almost prioritary in the Frontier); Eliograph teams; Pickets with signal flags; dismounted Indian Cavalry (Guides); more Indian types..including less trained like militia/kyber rifles; mule carts..ecc...

Also there are a few more Second Anglo-Afghan War codes almost ready and some still in there 'green' state. These including a British Horse Artillery 9 pdr, kneeling British Infantry and an irregular Afghan mountain gun and crew.
