Crimson Skies - Texas Navy
« on: May 18, 2016, 08:56:37 PM »
Hi,

Here are the test figures for my new squadron the 88th Texas Naval Squadron (Colored) "The Black Knights"

I'm not 100% happy with the result, the yellow and red did not come out crisp enough, but they look good from 1 meter.

Enjoy

They look good to me.  Did you under paint the red and yellow areas with white first? I would possibly try using thin masking tape if you want crisper edges but I think hand painted stripes are always more satisfying even if they wobble a little.

Odd, I can see them? Nice to see Crimson Skies models again, it has been a while.

@Sven Thanks

Yes, I primed them white so that I would not have to cover black with my red or yellow. Maybe it is a combination of them being to dark and the wrong wash (tried black and D.Mud and was happy with neither). It was just that I planned the stripes to be brighter.

I though about masking tape, but then I remember that the stripes must look straight from 1 meter away, so I scraped the idea.

Got to love the old Crimson Skies figs

Yep, even the repainted clixs like these ones.

I love the game so much and it is a hit every time I introduce it to new players. A shame that it has disappeared.

Nice planes! It's always a joy to see Crimson Skies get some love.

I agree, the game is lots of fun and a shame that the game is no longer made. There was still so much potential in the setting.
