Welcome to the Pikes, Muskets and Flouncy Shirts Painting Club!

Well, the 10th season of the Lead Painters’ League has just ended, and you know, The Prof and his merry band of moderators like to keep you all entertained, painting and posting stuff…

And since tomorrow is the 398th anniversary of the Second Defenestration of Prague (the spark for the Thirty Years War in 1618), what better day to launch - drum roll, pipes and hautboys – the Pikes, Muskets and Flouncy Shirts Painting Club! (Or the 'PMPC' for short).

The idea of the painting clubs is for LAF members to populate a club with 100 newly painted miniatures, one miniature at a time, following the theme in question.

It’s an informal, collaborative project.

The scope for this painting club includes the ‘historical’ wargaming period known as ‘Renaissance’ or ‘Pike and Musket’ – for instance, Italian Wars, early Tudor, Conquistadors, Wars of Religion, Elizabethan, ECW, TYW, and the later C17th. It also includes the genre of cinematic swashbuckling adventures – the Three Musketeers, pirates, smugglers, highwaymen, Jacobite rebellions (the ’15 and the ’45), and the French and Indian War.

Note that regimented warfare of the C18th belongs in ‘The Age of The Big Battalions’, not here. But it’s a fine distinction, so we won’t be too picky.
(Basically, if it’s a miniature from an era when they wore ruffles, it should be okay).

Edit: Note also please, that submitted miniatures should represent historical (or broadly historical) types from the period, genres and settings described above. Fantasy / sci-fi miniatures with a 'swashbuckling' vibe are not eligible. So no orc pirates, outer space buccaneers, landsknecht-styled ogres, or new romantic vampire revenant elves please! :)

There are some simple rules:

- Any LAF member can take part.
- You take part by posting in this thread, a picture of a single newly painted miniature that fits the theme.
- You can only post one entry within a 24-hour period.
- You can contribute as many miniatures as you like while the painting club is running. But you can’t post more than one per day.
- The subject of your picture must be a single, fully painted and based miniature.
- It can be whatever scale you like up to 40mm.
- It can be a figure on foot, a mounted figure, or a piece of equipment – a cannon, for instance.
- You can picture your miniature on its own, or in a scenic setting.
- The picture can be a single shot of the miniature, or a composite of different views.
- Photoshop manipulation of the image (except for colour / brightness / contrast correction) isn’t allowed.
- Your picture should be a maximum size of 1000px x 1000px
- The miniature should be newly-painted for the club and not have been previously shown here or elsewhere on the internet.

If participants submit old stuff, that submission will be disqualified and removed.
If you submit more than one miniature in any one day, or multiple miniatures within a picture, that submission will be disqualified and removed.

You can upload the image using the LAF attachment function, or upload it to an image hosting service and link to here.

When you post a picture, please check the number of the entry before yours, and then number your entry accordingly. So, if for instance, the last entry was entry #037, your entry becomes #038.

Please give your picture/figure a title or name and state the manufacturer and / or sculptor if known.

The club will stay open until 100 contributions have been posted. Then the club is complete.

When you post a picture, you become a member of the club and may add this handsome painting club badge - designed by Westfalia Chris - to your forum signature line:

Go to the profile tab, then select ‘Forum profile information’. Paste the link into the ‘Signature’ field, click ‘Change profile’, and that will add a 50px image of the painting club badge to your displayed signature line.

Thanks for starting this, Richard, good to have another challenge :) Lovely painting on the officer, blue and brown, I really have to use that combo!
